Toys That Give Back: Why I’m Digging These Cuddle+Kind Dolls

As parents, we’re often searching for great new toys for our kids to play with. And as feminist parents, we’re also often left struggling with the idea of being wasteful, of becoming over-consumers, of the ethics of where all our purchases come from. But once in a while, you’ll find a great company that’s doing more than just providing fun things for our kids: they’re also giving back to the community.

Cue cuddle+kind, a family-run company that creates seriously adorable dolls that also benefit others.

cuddle+kind’s mission is to help eradicate childhood hunger. For every one of these handmade dolls they sell, they donate a portion of their earnings to feed 10 children in need, working in partnership with the World Food Program USA and the Children’s Hunger Program. Add to this the fact that each of these dolls is carefully crafted by over 100 Peruvian women artisans, and you can see why I am digging them so much. These dolls are ridiculously cute and cuddly, they provide food for hungry kids around the world, and they’ve created a job market for skilled women artisans who are receiving fair wages. Isn’t that what every feminist wants out of a purchase?

Seriously. Too cute. Buy yours here now for the little one in your life (and feel free to give them some love on Facebook or fawn over their plushies on IG). Or buy one for yourself, because you deserve cute+ethical stuff, too.

Disclosure: I have received a discount from cuddle+kind in exchange for this post. Opinions here are my own.
